Before co-founding Extend in January 2010, Jonathan had previously established & managed the Secure Trends Division at Hilan Tech where he was also responsible for IT business development since joining in 1995. During 14 years at Hilan, Jonathan introduced leading software distribution operations of many leading international technologies into the Israeli market including IBM Lotus Notes, Trend Micro and more recently Protegrity & Application Security.
In addition to business development responsibilities, Jonathan has also acquired over 20 years of strategic enterprise experience having successfully managed sales activities with leading customers in all sectors of Israeli IT industry including all leading banks, government, military, hi-tech, industrial & pharmaceutical market sectors.
In 2000, Jonathan signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Trend Micro who was a relatively unknown security player in the Israeli market. Despite significant competition from other leading security players with large installed customer base e.g. Symantec, McAfee & local players including Aladdin & Checkpoint - a very focused operation approach was formulated starting with 1 year of direct strategic enterprise sales. After many successes, in response to accumulating demand in 2001, this direct sales operation turned very quickly into a selective 2-tier Distributor channel model which today boasts of an operation in excess of 250 value added resellers in the local market & the one of the leading installed antivirus/malware solutions installed in Israel.
Jonathan previously held other senior positions as branch manager at Contahal Limited (today renamed Ness) where he established a Client-Server Technology operation and also at Mittwoch & Sons (exclusive Israeli representative for NCR Limited) where he joined in 1982 where he was responsible as product manager for all database management systems for NCR mainframes, UNIX minis & PC's.
Jonathan has a B.Sc. in Physics & Computer Science & M.Sc. in Information Systems & Database technology from the University of London. In 1994 Jonathan was also awarded a Diploma of Business Management specializing in International Marketing from the Reconatti Institute of Business Administration at Tel-Aviv University.
Jonathan immigrated to Israel from London UK with his wife Fay & 3 year old son in 1981 - almost 30 years ago.
